REVIEW: Blood Warrior by H.D. Gordon

Title: Blood Warrior (Alex Montgomery #1)
Author: H.D. Gordon
Date Published: 9/5/11

Synopsis:
When her home is attacked by murderous vampires, 17-year-old Alexa is forced to leave her mother for dead in order to save her sister. She soon learns that she is the last known member of an elite race of supernatural Warriors, and is thrust into a world full of vampires and werewolves who all seem to regard her as some sort of savior. Meanwhile, Alexa battles a monster within herself that seeks to gain control; a monster that seeks blood.

The hidden city she finds herself in appears perfect, but Alexa's instincts tell her that all is not right within its walls. When she is asked to attend a school of fighters, whose exams consist of gladiator-style competitions, she must decide who she can trust among the smiling faces. And, when she meets Kayden, a vampire she feels undeniably drawn to, she must decide if she can trust herself.

My Rating:

My Review:
I really enjoyed this book. I have been on a huge kick of self-published author's lately by going through Goodreads, BEST KINDLE UNDER $3 list. Almost all of the books I have read in the last couple of weeks are deserving of 4 and 5 stars and they are all self-published. AMAZING!

Alexa is a little spitfire and I absolutely loved that about her. In the beginning I could tell she was the type that didn't really let other people affect her much, but I feel like as the story went on, she really grew into herself and I love it!

OMG Kayden. I just want to say that I got a very Dimitri from Vampire Academy vibe from him and that is a VERY VERY good thing!

I loved the connection between Kayden and Alexa and I absolutely love the world Gordon has created. CAN NOT WAIT to read more. MUST READ!
